INDIAN GIRLS HOISTED TRICOLOR AT GENEVA CHALLENGE
The ‘Geneva Challenge’ is the world’s one of the esteemed scholar platform for master professionals to contribute the theoretical, grounded and pragmatic solutions to international development problems. The world level challenge held for complex issue arising from ‘Social Inclusion’, has been organized by the Graduate Institute, Geneva under the leadership of the Swiss Ambassador Jeno Staehelin. In these prestigious challenge four Indian girls Minal Madankar, Dr Pooja Sawale, Dr Anukruti Chhabra and Dr Harshal Shirodkar have secured second position in this world cohort 2021.
Their contributions in academic spaces and passion to work for the deprived, marginal and vulnerable communities have led at world cohort on “The challenges of Social Inclusion”. Total 366 teams around the world has been registered to be a part of this challenge, 145 project entries were submitted by 558 global health scholars, out of which the Academic Steering Committee selected 16 semi-finalists teams, and the Indian team of these four bright scholars stood at second place in this global challenge.
These girls are the scholars of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. Furthermore, Minal Madankar and Dr Pooja Sawale is the founder executive member of Amravati based non-profit, non-government organization ARANYA (The Association of Researchers, Academicians and Young Activists) Foundation, are significantly engaged in rights based empirical research and policy advocacy. The ARANYA Foundation is a community of 160+ social scientists and academicians from 23 prime research institutes out of which 17 are Indian and 6 from abroad. ARANYA Foundation’s empirical digital publications have been recognized and awarded by the government, in respect of objecting contemporary critical social issues in the geographically remote locations under the major theme of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-16). The Foundation has presented the life challenges of indigenous people through several documentaries like ‘Womb of Melghat’ awarded by National Human Rights Commission, Government of India, ‘Silent Emergency’ and ‘Identity’.
For the significant contribution with pragmatic solutions and achievement Minal Madankar, Dr Pooja Sawale Dr Anukruti Chhabra and Dr Harshal Shirodkar congratulated for securing second position and appreciated for their contributions with the warm words by the various young social scientists, researchers, health professionals, Professors of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai and the members of ARANYA Foundation.
